This function has been tested and worked well in most cases. If capabilities information is not received or these capabilities are not included, such monitor will be regarded as not controllable through DDC/CI. This app checks if each external monitor is controllable through DDC/CI and shows only controllable ones.įor this purpose, this app requests a monitor to send its capabilities information through DDC/CI and checks if it includes the capabilities to get/set the brightness. The user can change the brightness of monitors, including external ones, either individually or in unison. I don't believe there can be version sensitivity that causes this issue.Monitorian is a Windows desktop tool to adjust the brightness of multiple monitors with ease. Somehow when Windows is restarted, the driver either defaults to something unsupported, or the installed drivers go bad. ![]() And I believe this restarting should be investigated. It takes a few minutes, and it does announce that the installation has failed, but it nevertheless does works a few minutes after that and until it is restarted again. I am currently setting up the Nvidia each time I start windows. And you are not saying where I can get the bootcam support files that will work with Windows 10 as you say. What is your haunch? What are you suspecting? Do you think that a slight variation in OSX version could cause such monumental problem as everyone seems to be having? You stated that a certain BC version was not going to work with Windows 10, but I do see in the folders of the drivers that are generated that Windows 10 64 bit is specifically included. I can, and I will, and I do appreciate your persistence with this. BUT - then the display brightness control starts working. The setup begins and then fails in the middle of the process. ![]() Could this be why the second graphics controller doesn't show up?Īlso, I found a "driver" folder in which there is an NVidia folder where I have tried to run the setup. The readme file inside says it is for windows 7 ans 8, and the setup does not run. Has anyone figured out what to do with this issue? Is there to only reinstall bootcamp display driver so the process of resetting it won't take that long?Īddendum: After writing the above I looked inside the folder where Apple driver updates reside and found a folder for Graphic, it is called "IntellVBGraphics64. I don't know if this is a clue or not, but while two graphics controllers are reported by "about this mac" on the OSX side, only one display adapter is reported on the bootcamp side. I have the driver update folder on my desktop now and I am going to run it again so that I can control the brightness knowing the setting will not work again the next time the computer is restarted. I have updated the Apple drivers on the bootcamp and everything works except the display control which works the first session, but when the computer is restarted it goes back to not working. My bootcamp is running windows 10, and the OSX side is Sierra. This question has been asked a million times and none of the solutions offered seem to work.
